Banish Your Tonsil Stones Without Surgery

If your doctor has diagnosed you as having tonsil stones, then he or she has probably recommended surgery to get rid of them. Antibiotics may help for a while, but if you don’t know what is causing them, they will never go away completely and permanently. Surgery is very risky, can cost thousands of dollars and takes weeks to recover. The recovery is painful and your diet is severely restricted, taking in only liquids and light foods.

If the thought of surgery has you confused, scared or hesitant, there is hope. There are natural methods you can use in order to get rid of your tonsil stones for good.

The first method you can try in order to banish your tonsil stones is a saltwater gargle. You can also mix some aromatherapy elements in with the salt water. This helps to soothe and relax the throat, loosening the stones, making them easier to dislodge.

Gargle twice a day, either before or after brushing your teeth. Mix some warm water with a smidge of salt, and a couple of drops of aromatherapy oil, such as lavender or mint. Be sure to gargle at least 30 seconds at a time. After a couple of weeks, you should be able to attempt to dislodge the stones.

In order to dislodge them, you can use a Q-Tip or water pick. If that doesn’t work, try using a medicine dropper to ‘suck’ them out. Believe it or not, ear candling can also work to loosen and dislodge the tonsil stones. Make sure that you brush your teeth twice a day, and use an anti-bacterial mouthwash to gargle with, along with your salt water mixture. You want to clear out as much bacteria as possible.

Changing your diet may also help you get rid of your tonsil stones, and prevent them from coming back. Try increasing your intake of fruits and vegetables (especially cucumber and celery) and cut down on sugar, processed foods, and caffeine. Dairy products and alcohol should be completely eliminated from your diet if possible. If you smoke, try and cut back, or quit completely.

These are small steps and they will take some time before you start seeing results. It may take a few weeks or even a couple of months before your tonsil stones are completely gone. The best part is, once you’ve made these changes permanent, you will not have to deal with future outbreaks.
